The McDonnell Academy Global Energy and Environment Partnership Education Network is a group of 29 Universities working together on various projects related to Energy and Environment. Each University has its own training and degree programs in these areas, and an impressive list of courses offerings at each Institute has been compiled (see www.eeed.wustl.edu ). EduNet develops a framework for co-utilizing the educational resources and expertise of faculty at the 29 Institutions. An added advantage is in the networking with the corporate sector, and developing a model for education with links to Industry, Government and Non-Governmental Organizations.
Utilize the synergistic strengths of the various faculty at the partner Institutions to offer a series of educational programs through short courses, cohort students groups and other means.
The overall goal is to develop a framework under MAGEEP to launch a variety of educational programs. A key feature of the programs is a partnership with Industry-Government and NGOs. Innovative ideas and other approaches from the various McDonnell Academy Partner Universities are utilized to develop new educational content and delivery mechanisms.
The key concept of the education program is the MAGEEP Energy and Environment Cloud that enables interactions amongst the partner Universities and constituents. The web-based infrastructure will support communication; will be a platform for cooperation through shared resources and it will also facilitate coordination for jointly developing, organizing and disseminating educational and research content. The shared Energy and Environment- related resources in the cloud can be tapped seamlessly by all interested users. Experts from various Universities can collectively develop and deliver content for data sharing and processing, tools for multimedia educational module creation and social media for cloud-supported human interaction.
